What is financial advice?
Financial Advisors are qualified professionals whose job it is to help others to make the best decisions around their finances. All Financial Advisors are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) so the advice they give is regulated. This means they can only recommend you products that are suitable for you.
Do I need to take financial advice?
Many people feel happy to make their own decision once they have access to the information they need. Others would prefer an advisor to make a recommendation to them – perhaps if they have complicated finances, they are unsure about what to do or they do not feel that their needs can be met by one of the solutions available through our guidance service. Certain types of pension scheme can only be accessed through financial advice to ensure that they are suitable for your personal circumstances.
If you have one of the following types of pension, you will need to speak to one of our Financial Advisors or receive help from our Pension Transfer specialist:
- ● Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP)
- ● Defined Benefit Schemes
- ● Section 9 (2b) Rights
- ● Section 32 Schemes
- ● Some Guaranteed Annuity Rates (GAR)
- ● Any policies which contain safeguarded benefits with a fund value above £28,000
We offer both guidance and financial advice, so you don’t need to make up your mind straight away. Our advisors will explain the advised process to you up front so you can decide if you would like to go ahead and receive a recommendation or alternatively make your own decision. Please note that once you have started the recommendation process you cannot then choose to proceed without financial advice.
