Our achievements

Established in 2004, we celebrated our 20th birthday in 2024. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved for our customers over that time.

2004

Age Partnership founded by Andrew Thirkill with the express idea of supporting customers through retirement, initially focused on equity release and providing specialist advice over the phone; meeting a need to support customers in a way that suited them.

2011

Fulfilling our mission to provide excellent customer service, we achieved 5 Stars on Trustpilot, an independent review site, and we’ve maintained that ranking ever since!

2011

Understanding that equity release is not the right solution for everyone, we launched our pension income service to further support our customers with their finances approaching retirement and beyond.

2012

To ensure we delighted our customers and sought to continually improve their experience with us, we undertook our first ever assessment with Investor in Customers and achieved Gold certification.

But more valuable than this award was the feedback we gained from customers that has enabled us to invest in improving our service – a process that remains in place to this day.

2013

We launched our Lasting Power of Attorney service to enhance the way in which our service could support our customers. This team has evolved over time to also offer Wills.

2015

Continuing to listen to our customers, we set up an arm of the business to provide equity release advice face⁠-⁠to⁠-⁠face. Having launched Age Partnership to help customers who felt more comfortable speaking to an advisor over the phone rather than inviting someone into their home, this was a huge step in delivering an additional service to allow us to be flexible in how we helped our customers.

2016

From our in⁠-⁠depth understanding of equity release products, we realised we could deliver even more value to our customers by reviewing their existing equity release plan to ensure it was still the right fit and provide the best value.

And if it wasn’t doing those things, we would arrange to switch the customers plan to a better one to allow them to saving money over the course of their plan or even access further funds.

2016

To underline our understanding that while equity release can be hugely beneficial to some customers, it is not right for everyone, we launched a mortgage team. Specialising in mortgages through later life, this combined approach to lending has enabled us to find solutions and help even more customers.

2018

We supported the launch of Nationwide and SunLife in the equity release market to improve access to the product and support in our aim of driving up standards across the equity release market.

2020

As COVID hit, we accelerated our plans to enable all colleagues to work remotely to allow us to continue to help our customers, setting up video advice meetings and working closely with lenders and solicitors to provide continuity through the challenges of the year.

2022

We were named ‘Best Financial Advisor’ at the Equity Release Awards and added yet another trophy to our cabinets. Recognition from the industry for our best practices is great, but the continuing positive reviews across Trustpilot and Investor in Customers is what really drives us all to get out of bed each morning and help our customers’ lives to get better with Age.
