Work out whether to release equity

Pension firm Aviva has launched a new online calculator which can help people work out how much money they will have to play with when they retire.
By helping homeowners understand how much they will get from pensions or annuities, it could help them decide if they want to enter into an equity release scheme.
Aviva's calculator is easy to use and only takes around 10 minutes to complete.
For people who do decide that they want to release equity from their home, they could use an online equity release calculator to figure out how much they can get from their house.
They would then be able to decide which form of equity release would be best for them, be it a lifetime drawdown mortgage or a home reversion plan.
