Travel to summer hotspots by equity release

Holidays to Turkey and Egypt will be the most popular summer getaways for 2010, according to new research by an online tour operator.

On the Beach has found that bookings for summer holidays in Turkey have grown by nearly two-thirds (63 per cent) and Brits grabbing their passport for Egypt have risen by a half (47 per cent).

While the country slowly makes its way out of the economic downturn, tourists are looking to bag the best bargains.

Retired holidaymakers could look at equity release schemes as a means of funding their travels to this year's most popular destinations.

These plans free up cash from property assets, meaning pensioners can still live in their home but have the extra income to soak up the sunshine.
