Over one in three (35 per cent) people seeking financial advice are concerned about what to do for their retirement, with equity release being one possible solution.

According to unbiased.co.uk, the potential internal policy battle over pensions in the coalition government is making people more nervous about funding their retirement.

Homeowners have some security though, as they can always release equity from their house, on top of their pension or annuity.

Taking out a lifetime mortgage or a home reversion plan will provide funding to help householders have a more comfortable retirement, whilst letting them stay in their own home.

Meanwhile, Karen Barrett of unbiased.co.uk commented that retirement decisions shouldn't be put on the backburner, stating that "with the coalition Government now in motion, direct and strategic input will be needed when it comes to pensions policies."ADNFCR-3040-ID-19780076-ADNFCR
