March saw house prices rise for the eleventh month in succession, new figures have shown.

Acadametrics reveal that the average house in England and Wales is now priced at nearly £230,000 (£227,788), up 1.1 per cent from the previous month. In London, average home equity is now over £375,000 (£376,605).

The rise in house prices will allow people to release more equity from their homes to give themselves greater financial freedom in their retirement.

Despite the growth, Acadametrics' chairman, Dr Peter Williams, believes that it is an uncertain time for house equity, although he does point to an annual increase of 13.4 per cent on last March’s figures and believes that London prices are "gathering momentum."ADNFCR-3040-ID-19717676-ADNFCR
