Equity release could combat bill rises

With fears that more people could need to enter equity release schemes to be able to afford rising energy bills, a power firm has come out with some advice.
Gareth Kloet, of OVO Energy, recommends that homeowners take the time to seek the best deal for them, as "no one answer fits all".
They can do this by visiting comparison websites or calling around companies to find the cheapest price, which would hopefully be in their price range.
This way, any decision to release equity from their home would be the householder’s decision. As a result, they would be able to spend the money on things they want, like a holiday or a new kitchen.
