Older female homeowners may wish to consider an equity release scheme to pay for private healthcare after a new research showed that the NHS was failing them.

The report by Professor Robert Leonard shows that nine out of ten specialists believe that older women are at risk of losing out on breast cancer treatments, such as drug therapy, surgery and chemotherapy.

It showed that only 16 per cent of women over the age of 65 received chemotherapy, compared with 77 per cent of those under 50.

If this is a worry for you or a loved one, you may wish to consider releasing equity from your home to pay for private healthcare in order to guarantee the best care.

One of the key advantages of an equity release scheme compared to downsizing is that you can stay in your own home, so you don't have the stress of moving if you become ill.ADNFCR-3040-ID-19870841-ADNFCR
