Equity release pays for frailty

Older people who have grown frail, but aren't classed as being ill, may need to consider an equity release scheme to help them pay for care.
That is one of the messages that could be drawn from last night's BBC Panorama, where former Voice of Older People, Joan Bakewell, discussed the issues her generation faces.
In the programme, she met many people who were struggling with care costs, with many having to sell their home to pay for care.
On some occasions, it is the older person's family who feel the need to sell, showing that the effects of paying for care can be far-reaching.
An alternative for this is an equity release scheme.
It will give the homeowner the cash that they need to look after those who need it, whilst allowing them to stay in familiar surroundings.
