The future looks bright for the equity release market, according to financial advisers.
Research from equity release provider Bridgewater shows that three out of five advisers believe that the market will either ‘increase’ or ‘increase a lot’ during the rest of 2010.
Positively, the remaining advisers believe that the equity release market will ‘stay the same’ at the very worst.
However, the survey showed that more than half (54.5 per cent) of advisers believe that consumers need to be better educated on the merits of getting an equity release scheme.
Meanwhile, a third (33.3 per cent) of respondents hoped that the opening up of funding markets after the recession would allow new providers to enter the market and give customers more choice.
