An equity release scheme could be an ideal way for over-55s to increase their ability to cope with rising prices, as consumer groups warn that telephone costs are likely to increase.

Price comparison website uSwitch has reported that major telephone provider TalkTalk is about to raise its prices by 5 per cent, following a similar move by BT earlier in the year.

It could leave older people that rely on telephone calls to stay in touch with friends and families struggling to pay their bills.

If you're finding that your retirement income is being stretched by today's cost of living then an equity release plan could use the value stored in your house to give you a more comfortable retirement.ADNFCR-3040-ID-19922857-ADNFCR
