Over 100,000 new property millionaires have been created since the turn of the millennium, meaning that many could release untold riches in the form of equity release.

According to Santander's figures, there were a little over 25,000 (26,776) homes that were worth seven figures in 2000, but today that number has jumped five-fold (393 per cent) to in excess of 130,000 (131,996).

If you're a property millionaire, why not check out an online equity release calculator to see how much cash you can extract from the value of your home?

As you'd expect, London and the South East top the charts with the most million-pound homes, with the SW postcode having nearly 40,000 (38,026) alone.

The first area to feature on the list away from the South East is Edinburgh in 11th, which has seen its total of seven-figure properties soar by more than 10,000 per cent (10,306 per cent) since 2000.ADNFCR-3040-ID-19881953-ADNFCR
