At Age Partnership, we believe it is important for us to balance our commercial objectives by ensuring that we have a lasting positive impact upon the people and environment around us. We work hard to create the right environment for our colleagues to thrive and we received the Investor in People accreditation in 2015.
Our corporate social responsibility activities are categorised into three areas, as follows:
We are dedicated to environmental improvements that foster a sustainable future. We recycle waste paper, aluminium cans, printer cartridges and use energy saving lighting in our office. Additionally, Age Partnership has created 424m² of new native woodland in the UK to remove 17,050 kg of Carbon Dioxide between April 2015 and March 2016.
We also run a car sharing and cycle to work scheme in order to reduce our carbon footprint. Whilst we know this is only a small contribution in the grand scheme of things, we strongly believe in doing our part for the cause, and hope to inspire others to follow suit. Together we can make a change.
Charity and Community
We actively support Candlelighters which is a Leeds based charity that helps children diagnosed with cancer. The charity provides support to the children and their families through a traumatic period in their lives.
We hold regular office based events to raise money for the charity and encourage our colleagues to undertake individual challenges on their behalf. Here are some of our colleagues raising money for charity:

Our employees are very passionate and actively support their own charities, such as the Macmillan Cancer Research, Sickle Cell Society, National Therapy Centres and many more.
In 2016, we set up links with both Leeds University and Leeds Beckett University to support the education of undergraduates by providing paid work placements within our marketing team. It’s our aim to further develop this relationship and provide further employment opportunities across the wider business as both placement and graduate level for 2017.
At Age Partnership we recognise that our people are our most important asset. As a result we place a strong emphasis on workplace safety and work-life balance whilst investing in the development of our colleagues.
We ensure that our Corporate Social Responsibilities are embedded in our business through an extensive colleague engagement programme. Key messages and reminders are regularly disseminated via an intranet that is used by all colleagues as the gateway to accessing their day to day operational systems.
We also produce a monthly colleague newsletter and our Group CEO holds quarterly business updates at which CSR messages and values are reinforced whenever possible. All new starters undertake a thorough company induction programme which includes coverage of our commitment to CSR.
We encourage our colleagues to get to know each other away from the office through a range of social activities and we have an active running and football club. This helps to create a friendly and fun atmosphere inside and outside of the office.
Our employee benefits scheme includes discounted child care vouchers, discounted gym membership, cycle to work scheme and a group personal pension. We believe this is vital in ensuring that all of our colleagues are happy, fulfilled and manage to maintain a good work/life balance.
